While most Monster Types have been in the game since its launch over 20 years ago, Konami has occasionally introduced new Types like Psychic and Wyrm. Monster Types form one of the backbones of the popular card game, categorizing its creatures into card types like Dragon, Spellcaster, and Warrior, among others. Konami has revealed Yu-Gi-Oh will be introducing a new Monster Type with the debut of "Duelist Nexus" later this year, the first new Type in six years.
